Whiz, Amber and Baby Makes Three

You know, I have a teen and I try to keep up with what is  happening in her world.  That is a way that we can stay connected.  I know all about the generation gap that my parents and I had. When I was still single and thinking about a family I vowed to try to keep that gap at bay with my own children.  I think I have done that for the majority of the time.  I keep up with the shows the kids are watching on tv, the music, fashions.  I think that any good parent has to in order to keep the bad things that draw young people in away.

For the most part when it comes to music that has been easy.  I am a fan of all sorts of music.  The explicit rap...not so much. Well at Christmas time, my child told me she wanted me to take her to the  coliseum so that she could by concert tickets to see Whiz.  Well, he was one person I had not heard of.  My daughter is apparently a big fan of him and Amber.  Since then I have of course investigated and found out all about him.  She even has a poster of him on her wall.  Well, can we say enough tattoos? 

Well, after hearing that my child followed them both on twitter, I then  had to find out who Amber was.  Well joy to them both.  They just had a new baby! 

Amber Rose has said that she and Wiz Khalifa fell for each other hard and fast, and that's been evident over the past couple of years. The pair officially began dating in 2011, and since then, they've been inseparable. They got engaged last spring, sharing the moment with fans on Twitter, and they welcomed their first child, Sebastian Thomaz, into the world Thursday — but it's been a memorable ride throughout.

Congratulations to Whiz and Amber.  I still only know the surface things but the fact that they are a family unit goes a long way with me.

I have never been a Kanye fan.  He has always been just a little too over the top and ghetto for me.  I don;t know...something about him just turns me off.  i do not listen to his music either.  As for Kim Kardashian, well I did not know who she was until a "minute" ago.  It was well after RayJ that I realized who she was.  These two as a couple just do not seem well fitted for each other.

How many men can Kim go through?  Apparently many.  Way too many for me to keep up with.  Maybe I am jaded.  I just cannot get excited about celebrities and their drama.  Celebrity life seems way too trite.  All their money and opportunity does not really help them.  They get caught up in drugs and drama just because they have nothing else to do....too little time and too much fun and excess.  So, Kim and Kanye....who cares if your outfits match? Most of America wonder how they can afford a decent outfit!

Troubled Shoes??

I have heard the stories about Bobbi Kristina Brown and at first was not going to comment.  I have never been a fan of Whitney or Bobby Brown and any kids they would have had would be in the same category.... celebrities not work keeping up with.  They are ghetto.  After readying the latest news I should have stuck to my guns.

REALLY? Dating your adopted brother?  Although there is no blood relation it is just wrong!  He was raised with you as your brother.  How could she even go there?  That is just wrong!  Wrong!  Wrong! It is the same as when Woody Allen began to date his adopted daughter.  No relation but that is still your daughter. Lines have been crossed.

The other thing that troubles me is that her family will be the administers of her fortune...sometimes family is not the best option.  I do not know if her family can handle it. Look at Whitney and Bobby.  Granted Whitney managed to keep her fortune but Bobby was stone cold broke at one time.  Although she wants to have nothing to do with her father, he is still her father. I bet over time he will wear her down in regards to money.  Maybe she realizes that and is trying to distance herself from him  by wanting to change her name.

Bobbi Kristina  is a troubled child, coming from a very troubled set of parents. The other family have to be enables in some sort of way.  I suspect that ultimately she will have some trouble along the way.  She is already snorting coke and doing drugs.  I am not being negative but it seems that her fate has been written by her parents.  Her capability to erase and break free of that past will be extremely hard.

Whitney Houston Dead at 48

Now I have thought Whitney always had a great voice but I was never a great fan of hers.  She was just oo ghetto for me!  She and Bobby together just got on my last nerve. I know she was in and out of rehab for drugs and I know that over time that can ravage the body.  I wonder if she had an overdose or the effects of drugs just caused her body to give out.  Sad either way.  I know she has a young daughter...I think.  Rest in Peace Whitney.  You were one very talented pair of shoes that have been put in the closet way too soon.

Funny and Soulful Shoes Lost

This past week has been not so good for several icons of the music and comedy worlds. We lost Bernie Mack and Isaac Hayes within days of each other. They will sorely be missed. In the loss of Bernie Mack, it seems to me he went too soon. He was in the prime of his career. I loved his
show.



When I think of Isaac Hayes the only thing that comes to my mind is Shaft. He did lots of tv and music in between, but for me Shaft is it! He was the bomb...like tic..tic!

Rest in Peace, Bernie and Isaac. Job well done. You both will be sorely missed.

Jessica Simpson Shoes!

I was in the mall last weekend and eveywhere I went there were Jessica Simpson shoes everywhere! Almost too many stores had her shoes. I just want to know who is buying them? No one I know even has a pair. I love heels but some of hers are just soooo high! I have begun to look and ask my friends if they have a pair. No one does. The market here is saturated with her shoes. Some are cute, I must say...like these.

Who IS buying her shoes? I would like to know! Now Jessica Simpson.....she is going country!

Oprah's Shoes Gone Wrong!

What is wrong with this picture? Can we say everything!? I heard all the rumors that Oprah and Tyler are dating and from what I have read, it may not be a rumor anymore. Barf! When I see these two together, the only thing that comes to mind is the song from Sesame Street...one of these things is not like the other...one of these things does not belong.

This seems to be a match that is most odd. I do not know what really happened with her and Steadman. They seemed like a great couple together....until I heard she paid him $350 million not to talk about the relationship. With all that time invested, it seems he would be more honorable than that...to take $350 million to go away. But I guess he got used to Oprah's life. He wanted to live in the life he got used to.

Oprah and Tyler Perry? Not a match made in heaven.
