This has been a wonderful day filled with shoes and gifts of all other sorts. Coach bags, Coach wallets, Coach coin purses, sweaters and shirts and play station 2's. Baby phat coats and all sorts of good smellum's from bath and body works. It has been a grand day topped off by checks for big dollars and let's not forget the shoes. Timberland hiking boots now live under the christmas tree for me. I got dirty Fila a pair too. Not the hiking boots, but the Nelly's. (You know, like L'il Kim getting out the range rova' Timberlands.) Last but not least, my light blue sperry topsiders, made my last shoe wish come true. Santa was very good this year in many, many ways. And he did not forget the shoes!
All is right in the world right now. Last night I was able to see "It's a Wonderful Life." I just love that movie. I went to the 11pm candlelight service at church. It was just beautiful with all those candles. Right now I am watching "The Santa Clause." I love that movie as well. I will have you to know that one of dirtyFilas friends came over on yesterday to exchange gifts with her and we were talking about how Santa got into homes. She had the nerve to say that he did not have a chinmey in her house to come down. Can we say I was flabbergasted. Well, I had to explain to her that on Christmas eve every house in the world that does not have a real fireplace, has the magical one that santa comes down on Christmas eve. Her mother needs to rent The Santa Clause for her! By the time I got finished with her she was a believer!
On yesterday, dirty Fila and I were at home wrapping gifts and we heard sleigh bells. Every year we hear them. Really we do. And we know that Santa is real. We had no idea where theyare coming from. We are at home, on our own and we hear sleighbells ring for just about 5 seconds or so. We just look at each other. The fat man really livith!
My shoes were just a little melancholy on Christmas Eve's Eve. I was shopping at a major department store, looking in the sale section of the shoe department. I was checking out the boots, the BCBG girls, the Fry boots and Steve Madden boots and shoes. There were four very together black men sitting in chairs waiting for their wives/girlfriends as they shopped. They looked to me in their mid to late 20's. That is not normally what you normally see. They were all sitting waiting as they shopped. One picked up a pair of boots and commented that they were on sale and the price was $350.00.
Obviously they were black men with jobs, who were part of a cohesive family. It made me sad. just a little as it is just me. It made me wistful. Wanting what seems to be so elusive to me... a good relationship with a black man who has it going on. They seem to be so scarce where I am. The good ones are all taken and if you happen to meet anyone who is half way decent, most likely they are not from where I am. I think I need to move. Seems like it will be just me and the cats once dirty Fila leaves. They say that true love is supposed to strike when you least expect it, but I have been least expecting it for 10 years. When it is supposed to happen? Maybe it is not for me. I must not be the one to have the big wedding or even a small one in a beautiful gown. Some people may be destined to be alone. I fear I am one of them.
There just HAS to be someone out there for me. There just has to be. There has to be another jazz loving, Vivialdi humming, Celtic music loving, Masterpiece Theatre fanatic, public television watching, beaching combing, mystery and horror reading, npr, classical and new age listening, eclectic, gregarious person out there for me. I've been waiting for 10 years. Strike now, please, the iron is hot. Strike now. There is no time like the present! Maybe by next christmas, I will have the greatest present of all---Love!

What I do is kick them in the pants with a diamond buckled shoe!
