Wanting My Traveling Shoes

It has been a long while....well since 2007 since I have been on any real vacation. I have been on trips since then but not a vacation that was to be a restful experience.   Since 2007  I have been on two mission trips but mission trips are work. They are not about relaxing.  There are restful times but few.  I spent 10 days in the Amazon jungle when I went to Brazil and I spent 8 days in Guatemala visiting the indigenous Mayan Indians in the mountains.  Those were working trips and very rugged....no luxuries of any types.  The shoes that accompanied me on both those trips were my Timberland boots.  Nothing else will do in the jungle and nothing else will do in the mountains and dirt village roads of Guatemala.

This year I would like to go to one of the places on my bucket list...the Galapagos Islands.  I might still have to take my boots but my capacity would be different.  I would be an observer and not a worker!  I have seen some travel shoes on my local PBS stations about the animal life there and it is fascinating!  What an experience it would be to see it in person.

Galapagos Cruises are available that can literally whisk you away for a once in a lifetime trip to the Galapagos Islands.  The islands are located in the Pacific Ocean off the west coast of South America and are composed of more than 60 islands and islets.  Some of the most rare and diverse species of plants and animals can be found there.  Three, four and six night cruises are available. During the day excursions to the islands are available that include things like a tour on a glass bottom boat, snorkeling, hiking and photography.

On board the  Galapagos Cruise you will be able to enjoy activities like Spanish and cocktail lessons, towel dubbing and whale watching, just to name a few.  There is even chocolate tasting!  REALLY? (I have always know chocolate was a vegetable and that there was never a bad time to eat it!)  Cocoa is the golden nugget of Ecuador and there are many varieties only found in that country.

If you want to spend a wonderful vacation aboard a  Galapagos Cruise Ship, now is the time to start thinking and planning. There are even specials available now that are very appealing as far as price. A 6 day cruise promotion starts at $2522.  The four day starts at $1767.  Those are not bad prices.  These special promotions are only available until March 15th so time is of the essence.

Be sure to check out the entire site because not only does it have the information about the costs of a trip, it has a plethora of information about the island, what to expect and how to get ready for the trip, the animals and the parks.  Be sure to check out the frequently asked questions.  There is information about the vegetation and beautiful pictures of the animals and plants that you would see on the trip.  Last but not least is the multimedia gallery.  It is awesome!  Makes me want to sign up today.

If you are seriously thinking of a trip to the Galapagos Islands, consider taking a Galapagos Cruise. Go ahead, dust off those traveling shoes!   I do not think you will be disappointed.
