BAN THE HALF CHRISTMAS TREE!

You know there are all sorts of things in this world but I have heard it all today.

Today I was asking Classic Court how she was decorating this year for the holidays and she told me she was not going to do a whole lot. She found a half tree at the end of the holiday season last year and would just put that up. Well I had not even, EVER dreamed of a half christmas tree! The nerve! It is an abomination! A half tree!

I asked her what she meant. She said a half tree! I asked her again o the nail what that was. She said a half a tree..like a whole tree cut in half. She said that she has a nail on the wall in her living room. It is decorated and all she has to do is hang it up. Instant christmas at her house!

That is wrong...just wrong! My feelings are if you have a half tree there is something very wrong with you. May be it is an English thing? Does the Queen of England have a half tree? I will have to ask Classic Court that when I get back to the office on Monday.

In addition she said she puts her paper machete sleeping dog under the tree! During the summer2 years ago, she ordered on line, a large paper machete sleeping dog for her front porch--as deocration. She says she puts it under the christmas tree and this year it will be under her half tree! What is wrong with that picture!?!?

And you can't say much to Classic Court before she gets upset. She will start speaking the queens english is a millisecond and you will have no idea what sort of english curses she is hurling at you. You cannot understand a thing she says when she starts that.

What I do is kick them in the pants with a diamond buckled shoe!

Half a tree! The other half could go on the other side of the wall.

Some people don't have room for a whole tree. I am looking at buying one myself because my house is 660 sq feet and with my set up there reallyisn't room to put a full tree. So don't judge something thatyou just don't like. It's a practical solution.

I know it is a practical solution but it is just the thought..when I think of christmas I see in my mind's eye a whole tree! :)

These are actually pretty cool when you don't have a lot of room!

You've got a great sense of humor and I agree completely. Who wants half a tree - actually, who ever even heard of HALF a tree. Well, mine will arrive by Saturday!

I had to do a bit of "Googling" to find the term "half." Now that I've read your cute piece, I will continue to sacrifice floor and seating space, get a tree (need we say "whole" or is that implicit!) and hang the half one on a wall in lieu of a wreath!

I don't even like artificial trees, and last year had a gorgeous frasier fir, so you can imagine I was having weird thoughts about half a tree!

Atleast I knew I would never saw off 50% of the limbs of a REAL tree lest it bleed sap and die before Santa got to it, and now after seeing your blog, well, a tree by any other name just wouldn't smell like a full, round frasier fir!

Nice coincidence that I happened upon your site to bring me to the senses ... sight, smell, AND symmetry ... to which we take delight in the one, the only, beautiful evergreen Christmas tree!

I bought a half tree 15 years ago, I used it in my office for years. After I sold my business I started hanging it on the back patio as our 2nd christmas tree. This year I decided to leave it up and turn it into an "occasion" tree. I put red and pink lights on it for Valentines Day with red hearts and red ball ornaments. For my grandson 4th birthday I decorated it with A's for his first name and made construction paper ice cream cones, with gold and green light. St. Patricks day I will use the same green and gold lights and add shamrocks. Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day I will decorate all red, white and blue. My friends and family love it!

I have to agree with Anonymous... I just never had room for a full Christmas tree, and thus went to buy a half Christmas tree from Balsam Hill. Couldn't be any happier as it did the job.

Yes, it's half of one, but for those of us with little room and still wanting a Christmas spirit, it worked perfectly.

Wow you are quick to judge. I have a small apartment with my roommate and we have no room for a whole Christmas tree. I love the Christmas season and was getting bummed when we couldnt find a tree that would work in our small living room. A half tree fits perfectly, and its decorated just the same as a normal tree. the fact that it gets nailed to the wall is an added bonus as we have two small kittens who would love nothing more than to knock over the tree. So for those of us who are not fortunate enough to have a giant home with plenty of room for a Christmas tree, this tree is actually perfect and allows us to share in the joy of Christmastime.

I have been looking for one they are now too expensive. I had one for years and need a new one. I use it in the corner on my living room and you can't tell and it saves me a lot of room. I have 2 regular trees they don't fit. I move from a large suburban house in the suburb to small 5 room in the city, downsizing.
